Dolci Bakery

Dolci has been operating on Elmwood Avenue for 17 years. Business partners Richard Buccleu and David Simpson purchased the business in February of 2006. After researching the startup of a retail/wholesale gelato business we discovered that Dolci was for sale. Being that Dolci is an Italian specialty bakery, we saw it as a perfect launch pad for Italian ice cream. Our passion for gelato was so great that we named our corporation Gelato Ji, Inc. For nearly 3 years now we have been producing gelato and sorbet in flavors ranging from the traditional, like pistachio and vanilla bean, to the more exotic coconut lemongrass honey ginger. Our gelato and sorbets are all homemade in a traditional way, according to strict standards of butterfat and air content, using as many local and seasonal ingredients as possible, to ensure the highest quality. We currently supply many restaurants and other vendors in the Buffalo area, as well as participate in local festivals and events.
Also, we are near completion of our second store, due open by mid June, located on Grant St at Lafayette. This store will serve as our gelato manufacturing location and gelateria, with some additional items for sale, such as our artisan breads, cookies, tarts and cakes.
